## HashiCorp Software Engineer Interview Guide & Process
HashiCorp is a leader in infrastructure automation (Terraform, Vault). They are a remote-first company with a strong written-communication culture and a deep open-source ethos (primarily Go).
### 1. Recruiter Screen (30 mins)
Discussing your background, remote work experience, and alignment with HashiCorp's principles (e.g., "Beauty works better", "Pragmatism").
### 2. Technical Screen (1 hour)
Usually a live pairing session in Go, focusing on practical implementation, API design, or concurrency concepts rather than abstract LeetCode puzzles.
### 3. Virtual Onsite (4-5 hours)
- **Architecture & System Design:** Designing distributed systems, focusing on fault tolerance, consensus (Raft), and network partitioning.
- **Deep Dive / Code Review:** Reviewing existing code or extending the application from the tech screen.
