What to expect in the GitLab - Engineering - Remote interview process
## GitLab Software Engineer Interview Guide & Process
GitLab is one of the pioneers of all-remote work. Everything is documented in their public handbook. They look for strong Ruby on Rails or Go experience and async communication skills.

Depending on the role, this might be a technical screen or an async Merge Request (MR) review where you evaluate a piece of code as if you were a maintainer.
### 3. Technical & Behavioral Interviews (3 hours)
- **Deep Dive:** Going through a past project, discussing architecture, challenges, and tradeoffs.
- **Pairing Session:** Live coding to solve a backend/infrastructure problem.
- **Behavioral:** Focused on their CREDIT values (Collaboration, Results, Efficiency, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Iteration, Transparency).
