## Canva Software Engineer Interview Guide & Process
Canva is a massive visual communication platform. Their engineering spans complex frontend architectures (WebGL, Canvas) to massive backend scale (Java, Go).
### 1. Recruiter Screen (30 mins)
Initial chat about your background and Canva's hyper-growth environment.
### 2. Take-Home Task OR Live Screen
Canva often gives a choice. The take-home is highly respected and involves building a small, functional app. The live screen is standard algorithmic coding.
### 3. Virtual Onsite (4 hours)
- **Domain Deep Dive:** E.g., Frontend engineers will build a complex UI component; backend engineers will discuss concurrency and databases.
- **System Design:** Architecting a scalable image rendering pipeline or user content delivery system.
- **Values Interview:** Focused on "Be a force for good" and "Make complex things simple."
